David R. Daniel

I was born in Jefferson City Tennessee. By the time I had graduated high school, I had lived in 7 locations: Jefferson City TN, Knoxville TN, Atlanta GA, Macon GA, Smyrna GA, Farmers Branch TX, Charlotte NC, St. Petersburg FL, Northbrook IL; and gone to 3 elementary schools and 5 high schools. So I guess it's not a huge surprise that I now live on the road.

I was (sorta) educated at Carson Newman College in Jefferson City TN; Pasadena City College (AA), Pasadena CA; Long Beach State University (BS), Long Beach CA. Major at LBSU was Photography with a minor in Comparative Literature.

WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO HERE.

I am not a Rock Art recorder or researcher. I'm a photographer. I approach taking photos a little differently than most. I'm not trying to get the most TRUE version of the image (although that is a consideration), I'm trying to get the BEST IMAGE. When deciding on which angle to use, how much of the panel to shoot, and what of the surrounding environment to include, I have only one objective, to take the clearest, prettiest, best photo I can. Much of the look of each photo depends also on the post production in photoshop and the angle of the sun.

PLEASE let me know about broken links, spelling mistakes, or other errors too numerous to list. Also shoot me an email if you would like to 'Subscribe' to be notified when I add another site gallery.

Me (extreme left, tettering on one foot) and some good friends at the end of a week long exploration of Rock Art Sites and Ruins in Canyon de Chelley National Park in Arizona.

If you are interested in seeing Rock Art up close, a great way to accomplish this is to become a member of a Rock Art organization. They have annual meetings with field trips, many on private land.
